CLASSIC COUNTRY MUSIC
The origins of Northern Reflections began a few years ago after Jim Unrau left the band, The Buckaroos and slowly began assembling some new members that eventually evolved from a four-piece into the five-piece group (Jim Unrau, Eddie Sharpe, Murray McIntyre, Dave Green, and Kenny Wettlaufer).
The band played at a lot of old-time dances in the early years and when Eddie Sharpe joined the group more vocals were added to their lineup as was the fiddle when Murray McIntyre joined.
Audiences should not expect the band to play anything else but classic country as modern country just doesn’t seem to fit.
“We really love classic country,” says, Jim Unrau. “It goes with what we do at the old-time dances because it has a fox trot beat or a waltz beat and people can dance to it more so than modern country… We don’t want to see classic country die.”
The concert will be a mixed bag. They will be doing some upbeat music, from groups such as Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Atlanta, George Strait, Merle Haggard, and then they will get some slower style music including the fiddle.
Audience participation is always encouraged.
