Les Batinses

Saturday March 14, 2009

Showtime: 7:30pm

Tickets: $26

Inspired and explosive, Les Batinses happily give purists a run for their money by putting out a new breed of traditional folk music.

Born out of chance meetings, quirky ideas and sleepless nights, Les Batinses are pushing their forth album: EAUX-DE-VIES (meaning hard working/ hard drinking way of life). A reflection of their singular musicality and their untimely attitudes, the album hits harder than a bottle Appalachian moonshine. They WILL drive you blind with pleasure.

With more than a few on-stage trippy collaborations and inspiration hitting them all along the lengthy international touring they’ve done, the adventurous sextet does not shy away from a little mix and match. They can hold down a tex-mex roadsong, mix a Canadian fiddle riff with an eastern Europe tune and shoot a ska-folk song without even flinching: all of this to the public’s greatest delight, who keep binging on their insane performances.

Les Batinses. Kick-ass traditional folk music. One hell of a ride
